Billy Michael “Mike” Cartwright, age 68, of Shelbyville, was born November 15, 1950, passed from this life on April 30^th, 2019, at home with family by his side.

 A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2019, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home.

Mr. Cartwright was born and raised in Bedford County and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Flat Creek Methodist Church. He enjoyed firearms, having worked at SLC Firearms as head sales associate.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, William “Billy” Benton and Betty Harris Cartwright. 

Survivors include: loving wife of 47 years, Mary Ellen Cartwright; children, Chris (Lacey) Cartwright of Flat Creek, and Marc (Julie Kay) Cartwright of Shelbyville; 3 grandchildren, and brother, Ted (Donna) Cartwright of Shelbyville.
