When I was a freshman and fell down the stairs and 3 or 4 boys saw me. (they laughed instead of helping me up!). Also Mrs. Eakin just humiliated me one day in class.

Any other School Stories you wish to share?

I was a wallflower (or so I felt) in high school, not enough confidence in myself and too shy to join clubs (except for Future Homemakers of America!) I really did want to be a part of all the other clubs but was afraid I wouldn't be accepted. One thing I'll never forget was study hall in the library when Albert "Butch" Prince's hippie beads broke and made a clatter and rolled everywhere. I remember our librarian's real name Eunice Rogers ("Miss Mousy was a nickname I remember. My two older sisters graduated in 1956 and 1959 and she was Miss Mousy then too).

I was the same way you described yourself in school. I considered myself too shy to try to make friends. I always felt like a wallflower until I married Jack, who was very outgoing and personable. So that helped me. But then in 1994, he was killed in a car accident in Taiwan on a business trip. But with the help of God, I'm overcoming the depression and I'm not shy any more. I guess I finally grew up!

Sounds like you might run into Jimmy Buffet on your dream vacation! And I love the pictures of your dogs, there is nothing as loving as a dog. I've had about 15 over the years. What a loving tribute to your sister. Bless you.

I, too, fell down the stairs freshman year, but there were several boys at the bottom who thought it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen! I was so embarrassed. (None of them offered to help me up, either!)

Vicky was somebody I loved to be around bcause she had such a good  sense od humor. In third grade, our teacher Mrs. Edwards (terrific lady) would put on a play in the high school auditorium. Vicky and I were elves number 1 and 2, in the play "The Shoemaker and the Elves". As we are bouncing around in a circle, Vicky's beanie came off and we laughed until the play was over. i liked her so much.

I didn't know John Paul well in high school  but a few years later, we ran into each other in Nashville where we

both were living at the time (neither of us was married).  It was so wonderful to see a familiar face. We went out

a few times.  It hurt so much when he died.

t

Marvin and I went to the same church, Shelbyville Mills Baptist.  He was my first boyfriend, we were about 12 or 13. He took me to the Sweetheart Banquet the church sponsored. He gave me my first kiss--behind the church! But then we entered high school and the "romance" was over....

Ricky was my first cousin, his birthday a day after mine. When we were little, we used to play "Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. His life had been tough growing up but I loved him a lot.

The older I get, the more I think of my classmates and how I loved you all at the time but didn't realize it until I got older
