Judy Stewart (Day)

Judith Stewart Day, age 72, of Fayetteville, passed from this life Monday, November 27, 2023 at Huntsville Hospital after an extended illness.

Judy was born on December 14, 1950, in Shelbyville, TN to the late Samuel Ewin Stewart and Wanda Snell Stewart. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by grandparents, Samuel and Tennie Stewart, and Moody and Emma Snell; and step-grandmother, Zayda Snell. 

She was a 1968 graduate of Shelbyville Central High School and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee in 1972.  She was a certified diamond specialist and sold fine jewelry at Service Merchandise for more than 10 years; during which, she also made and sewed custom children's clothing. Later in life, Judy sold and taught technology classes for top of the line sewing and embroidery machines until retiring in 2015.

Judy enjoyed knitting, sewing, embroidery, being on the water, camping in the RV, and spoiling the grandkids.

Judy is survived by: loving husband of 51 years, Brent Day of Fayetteville; children, Phillip Day and wife Karen of New Port Richie, FL, Amy Spriggs and husband Jarrett of Lexington, KY, Beth Lockwood and Husband Tim of Marietta, GA; grandchldren, Jackson and Courtney Day, Kennedy Spriggs, and Liam, Nathan, and Sophie Lockwood.

I knew Judy starting with my days at Flat Creek School. I never knew her to be unkind to any one.She will be greatly missed by many.
